While Mark Ainley, our Feng Shui teacher, was in Tokyo, I asked him how many students and consultants have trained with him in Canada? And he replied that he needed to focus on his father during the last few years while he was sick. He also had to cancel some classes when his father was ill so he could only teach a few students in Canada. Also, in western countries, only a few people know about Feng Shui. He said that in Japan he has had his biggest classes compared to other countries around the world. He told me that he needs a promoter like Naoko (me) in Canada and around the world.
For me, I always find it very strange and wonderful the people that we meet in our lives!
Looking back it seems to me that there was only a small chance that I would end up holding Mark's seminars on an ongoing basis in Tokyo.
In the beginning, my English teacher introduced Mark to me, and I had a consultation at my home and at the Temple Beautiful shop. At that time, I had no idea that I would hold his workshops in Tokyo. We need a lot of energy and work to hold seminars by foreign speakers in Tokyo, and at that time I didn't have a lot of energy to put into the project of holding a foreign speaker's workshops.
What changed was when I attended his workshop, there was a registration limit of 10 people in this small workshop. It was held in Daikanyama and Mark's client was hosting the workshop.
When I received the information about the workshop, I had no intention of attending it because it was being held on a Saturday afternoon, and at the time it was really hard for me to take time off from my shop on a Saturday afternoon, so I thought it would be impossible to attend his workshop.
Then just two days before, for some reason, I felt that I should go, and so I decide to join the workshop. The capacity was just 10, it was a very small workshop, but when I went there, there was only 2 students! Myself and a young woman in her twenties! That means that until two days earlier, there was only one person planning to attend the workshop! I cannot imagine that now!
After the workshop, I told Mark that next time you hold the workshop in Tokyo, please let me know and I will support you - I will help you gather attendees for the workshop.
I didn't mean that I wanted to host his workshops, I just wanted to help him gather students, because it was so bad that there were only two students in his workshop!
However, maybe he misunderstood my English because the next time, I'm not sure why, but we ending up holding his workshop. So at that time, I thought "It's OK, just this one time" and so we held his workshops.
Everything started from that moment! The first workshop we held was an evening workshop... and I remember it sold out in 3 hours, 75 seats.
As you know, now Mark's workshops is one of our most popular workshops. Every time his workshops fill up within 24 hours of advertising them. These workshops are usually for about 100 people at a time and they always fill up they are so popular. And he now comes to Japan three times a year to give his workshops and we started to do training, not only workshops, so that people could become trained as Feng Shui consultants.
In fact I became a Feng Shui consultant this year.
Everything that has happened is so far beyond what we ever imagined! For me, this is really weird and wonderful! Our life flow is so interesting! If I hadn't thought, just two days before his workshop, "Oh I can attend" then none of this would ever have happened.
It was a terribly hot day, and I didn't want to travel in the heat. But that day is so interconnected with where we are now. Life is so interesting!
As for Mark's workshops, sometimes I get a cancellation. The message I usually get is that the person has suddenly got to work on that day and can no longer attend. When I get these messages, all I can think is how unlucky it is for that person to not be able to attend. The only reason we are able to have such big workshops these days is because I made attending the workshop a priority rather than working. Work is important of course, but if we go to work instead of attending the workshop, nothing changes, our day will be the same as it was every other day.
When the wave of change comes, we should ride that wave! Even if that means skipping work for the day. Who knows, attending the workshop that day could be the beginning of a new life.
I found this Q&A on a website, and it was very interesting. I feel this is an important message for everyone. The original is in Japanese, and I have translated the main points so it is much shorter than the original one.
Q: We have a "law of the jungle" and I know that this is an inappropriate question, but in nature some animals eat the weaker animals - this is the law of the jungle. So, I wonder why in human society, we don't have that law of the jungle. Long ago, when small groups of people went to battle, the weaker group were killed by the stronger group. Nowadays though, the society supports the weak, using our tax money. I think the fact that strong genes survive is natural providence. In other words, we no longer have natural providence. Please tell me what you think about this, but without talking about human rights.
A: I think you are misunderstanding something. In nature, there is no "law of the jungle". There is no guarantee that just because you are strong you will not be eaten, and similarly you will not necessarily be eaten just because you are weak. For examples, tigers are stronger than rabbits, but rabbits are surviving all over the world, and yet tigers are on the verge of extinction. At an individual level, there is a law of nature. And in the end, every individual will die. The length of a life is different but from the viewpoint of nature, there is no difference. One dog may live 2 years, another dog may live 10 years, there is no meaning.
At the species level, it is "survival of the fittest", however most people misunderstand what this actually means, and it is not the "law of nature". The "survival of the fittest" doesn't mean that strong creatures survive, it means that creatures most suited to the environment will survive. And it doesn't mean survival of an individual creature, but that their genes are passed onto the next generation. In nature, there are many ways we can adapt successfully to the environment. For example, it is not necessarily the fast-acting creatures that survive, it is also possible for the slower, less-active creatures to survive too.
There are lots of different kinds of creatures, fast, slow, big, strong, weak, small and so on. There are many different forms in nature. As long as that form is suitable for nature, there is no need to consider if they are "strong" or "weak", the most important thing is whether they are suitable or adapted to the environment. If one individual lives for ten years and has one baby and there is another individual that births ten babies, but only lives for a year, the individual who births ten babies is more suited to the environment.
For our species, survival means to continue to the next generation. We have a lot of strategies to do this. Each living creature has different strategies on how to survive and continue the next generation. For human beings, we have a survival strategy and that is "society" and being social. In other words, helping each other and supporting each other to live longer and make sure that the human gene is continued into the next generation. The proportion to which we can survive as a species (human beings) depends on how we help each other. It depends on the power of society. Our society is more advanced than ever before and in the past weaker people would have died but now we are able to help them survive. We are doing a good job of passing on our genes to the next generation.
We don't need to be concerned about passing on the best genes possible - in fact, it is the effective genes that are important. We cannot know what kind of environment will lead to which genes being passed on. In society, if someone is handicapped we do not know whether in the future they might in fact have an effective gene that is needed. We just don't know. And so in human beings there are many different patterns and forms of humans. This is our insurance to make sure that humans survive and carry on into the next generation.
In the Amazon jungle, we can't survive alone. In the huge expanse of nature, humans are very weak. We are all weak when compared with nature. We need society in order to survive. This is why we have society, it is our survival strategy for humans. Humans have come together to support each other in order to ensure that the human gene continues into the future.
We are all weak. To cooperate with each other is our survival strategy.
Last week, I went to Ehime prefecture.
I visited a museum dedicated to a famous poet, Mr.Shinmin Sakamura, in Japan. I found some English translations of his poems and so I want to introduce those to you.
I read his book and I was surprised to read that he woke up around midnight, at 12:30am or at the latest 2:30am, before the sun came up - in fact, this is around the time I go to bed! He had woken up at this time since he was about 8 years old. When he was 8 years old, his father died suddenly. At that time his mother asked him to collect the first water of the day from the well for the father's alter. This became his work - to go to the well each morning before sunrise. Since then he woke up very early morning.
He said that at midnight to around 3:30am is a very important and precious time because of the vibration. He said that everyone should experience this, and that it is a shame that many people do not ever experience it. Throughout his life he was tough on himself and wanted to live as a good Buddhist. He wanted to be the best person he could be. I was really impressed by his life story.
Here are the poems I'd like to introduce:
Man must die
The sun must set
once a day.
Light must change
into darkness once and again.
This is what the cosmos has been teaching us.
To truly recognize this
will lead you to the path of understanding
almost everything in the cosmos.
As Long As the Earth Exists
As long as the earth exists
the dandelion will keep
coming out in bloom.
As long as the earth exists
the cricket will keep
chirping here and there.
Even if no man exists
on the earth any longer
the dandelion will keep coming out in bloom,
and the cricket will keep chirping here and there.
They are just like little angels
and my dream to Him.
Yesterday(* Feb. 2011), I got an email from a Japanese woman living in Arizona. I got permission from her to share the content of her email with you.
The following is a translation of her email:
This is the second time I have sent you an email. This time I want to say thank you to you.
Last November a doctor discovered that my husband had cancer, Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After we got this news, I started looking for alternative treatments and specific diets for cancer, and that is when I came across the Temple Beautiful E-Mail Magazine.
The past two months, I have been reading your E-Mail Magazine backnumbers, and in these you talked about Dr. Gladys McGarey and so I called her office by chance, the office secretary told me that there had been a cancellation, and so we could get an appointment to see Dr. Gladys very soon.
Actually, before I called her office, my husband and I had had a kind of misunderstanding, or a difference in opinion about alternative medicines, and how to diet, and whether to do chemo and so on, and I insisted that we needed to get a second opinion. I really wanted to get advice for us from Dr. Gladys's viewpoint.
Also, I was also very interested to see how Dr. Gladys did a medical examination with her patients. When I went to Dr. Gladys's clinic, there were no staff and she invited us in, and welcomed her into her room – but it wasn’t an examination room, it was more like a staff room, where we could sit and chat. There was a small table, and only three chairs. At first, she hugged us, and said “welcome friends”. Her hug was very warm and friendly. Then we started the appointment.
Her examination was beyond my expectations. At first, she asked my husband many questions, just like the following:
Q1. Name, address, phone number, birthday.
Q2. When did you find out that you had Hodgkin’s?
Q3. What did you do after you found out that you had this disease?
Q4. What do you usually eat each day?
Q5. Do you have any specific symptoms?
Q6. What is your job?
Q7. How has your job and your daily life been for the past two years?
Q8. Why did you change your job this year?
Q9. How did you feel about your last job? Did you have any complaints about that past job? What were they?
Q10. Are you satisfied with your present job?
Q11. What was your childhood like?
Q12. How do you feel about your parents?
Q13. What was your dream as a child? What did you want to be?
Q14. What is different between your dream as a child and your life now?
Then she asked me the following:
Q15. Do you want to have children?
Q16. What do you want to be? What is your dream for the future?
Then back to my husband:
Q17. Do you have any dream or goal at the moment?
Q18. Do you have any dreams at night? What kind of dreams do you see?
She also asked me these two questions.
We were so impressed with Dr. Gladys's words, each and every word.
The atmosphere was similar to being with our grandmother. Her words as a doctor, were helping her to analyze and make a diagnosis about us. It wasn’t like a usual doctors examination. It was almost like she was reading.
While I was with her I felt young, and as though she was reading our soul or our spirit.
According to Dr. Gladys, people who suffer from Hodgkin’s lymphoma tumor often have some trouble with their heart chakra. And they tend to have dissatisfaction with their daily life or work. They struggle to express their emotions, and tend to keep their emotions inside themselves, and this is often why they suffer from this disease.
This is why Dr. Gladys was asking us questions related to the previous two years of our lives. She was searching for the roots of the disease. She was also looking for any unconscious meaning or reason for the dream that may have come to us through our recent dreams.
We were so surprised… my husband actually had had a strange dream.
To him it was just a strange dream. But in fact, it was a very important dream. According to Dr. Gladys it was a message from himself to himself from his unconscious level. Also while she was interpreting my dream, she said that my dream and my husband’s dream were connected and that this was very important.
My husband’s dream was:
He was in school and having an examination. My husband had no motivation and didn’t want to do the exam. He wrote his answers without really caring whether they were right or not. Then he left the class early. When he went down the stairs in the school, there was a hospital in front of him. He saw kids on bicycles jumping off the roof of the hospital. One boy fell to the ground, and lost his balance, and hit his head hard on the ground.
My husband was so surprised to see this, and started saying, what’s going on? And some people came to help. And then, my husband went up the stairs, and was looking for me in the classroom. But I wasn’t there. Instead of me, the teacher was waiting. The teacher said, please do your examination again.
During this conversation, he was watching the kids riding still their bikes and jumping off the hospital roof. And then he woke up.
According to Dr.Gladys's interpretation of his dream, the class is his situation now, he has a disease, and the examination… and my husband wanted to abandon his situation. That is why he wanted to escape from this school classroom. As for me, as his wife, I am trying to deny that he is sick, and am trying to solve the problem. The meaning of dream, with his leaving the classroom, is him trying to escape from real life. The kids on the bicycle were himself, finding balance. It was significant that it was a bicycle, not a car. A car has balance, from four wheels, but a bicycle does not. And the message was that he needs this balance. The meaning of him escaping from the class is that he has lost balance in his life. However, he returned to the classroom, which means that he does want to take the next step, and in this situation, he found a teacher, not his wife. The teacher is his unconscious mind, his real self, and this was telling him that he must face his problem and solve it by himself. His unconscious self wanted to tell him this message.
I also had a dream, but it was so strange that I didn’t actually tell it to my husband at the time.
In my dream, a black man told me that he had raped me while I was asleep. I escaped from him. There was a wall covered with green plants, and the black man was trying to chase me, but he couldn’t climb the wall and he couldn’t reach me.
In this dream, the black was very important. It represents something bad, and in this dream, it represented my husband’s disease. And the meaning of being raped by this black man, was letting me know that I was very shocked to find out about his dream. The wall covered in green was also a key factor. Green is a very special color, and means promise, meaning in my case, that my husband would fight the disease and overcome it.
When I listened to Dr.Gladys's dream interpretation, I realized that the dream was very important. In fact, when I was a school student, I was very interested in psychology and I studied Freud and Jung, and also dream interpretation. However, I couldn’t get any meaning from this dream. But when I listened to Dr.Gladys’s interpretation, I realized that she was speaking the truth about my dream and its meaning.
Regarding chemo, the doctor said that chemo is very important to kill off the cancer cells in the body. Chemo is one tool of cancer therapy. The medicine is making him better day by day, and the side effects of the chemo is much better than before.
If he needs to do more radiation therapy, then he can help this by controlling his own body. He can visualize the light going to the affected areas, and killing only the cancer cells and not affecting the healthy cells. The doctor says this image is very useful and to please use it if he needs to have further radiation therapy. You can heal yourself, and you can recover your health. This is from you, not from radiation, not from therapy. So please keep yourself in your heart, and please visualize your future often in your brain.
And please keep hope, and laugh a lot and remain a positive thinker. These things are very important during therapy. Dr.Gladys said that if he knew the side effects of the therapy and medicine, it might be hard to stay positive. So it would be better if only I know about these things. My husband doesn’t need to know. She also said to avoid watching negative things, including scary movies, because the body reacts to these and they make the body feel negative.
When she explained to us about the visualization, she told us about an episode that had happened to her friend.
Her friend had been in an accident and she broke her neck. She couldn’t move anything except her eyeballs. Her doctor said she would never walk again. But while she was in this state, she visualized building a town, piece by piece. She destroyed everything that she had built, and then rebuilt it all again in her imagination. She was so excited to build a new town, and so impressed with her town!
She enjoyed her visualization each time. During this time, her neck healed little by little. And a few months later she could move her neck. Six months later she was able to move her body by herself. And now she is back to daily life and is able to move without any problems.
This episode gave us courage. The story is so easy to imagine ourselves that it made us feel brave.
We also received a lot of advice on what we should while my husband was receiving the chemo treatment. The number one point was that if he wanted to do a castor oil pack, that’s great, but if he doesn’t want to do it, that is fine too. The important thing is that it is his decision.
She said that oil massages would be good for him. After an oil massage, he may sweat a lot. She said that is a side effect of the detox from the massage, and that he needn’t worry about that. Sometimes he feels thirsty. This is also a side effect of the chemotherapy. When he feels this way, he should drink green tea, or ginger tea. If he wants to add honey, be sure to choose a locally made honey.
In addition, flaxseed oil is also very good, so he ought to take this oil daily with his meals. Raw almonds are also effective. Vegetables, in particular green leafy vegetables, are very good for him, so he should eat plenty of them. Vegetable soup is also good for him. If he wants to eat something sweet, then he should eat fruit. He often drinks soft-shell turtle soup, and she said it was good to continue drinking this.
Dr. Gladys said to my husband that he probably feels like eating meat at the moment, but when he overcomes this disease that his eating habits would probably change. Cancer has two favorite foods – sugar and meat. That is why when we have cancer we feel like eating more and more sugar and meat. If we continue to eat these two foods the body’s circulation gets stuck and this leads to very poor circulation. This kind of environment is what cancer thrives on. However, when we eat more vegetables, especially green vegetables, it is like a detox and our circulation improves and it makes it impossible for the cancer to live in our body.
Dr. Gladys's session was about an hour long. Our conversation was really deep. I knew a little about Cayce remedies, and we had already tried some Cayce treatments, so she talked a little about Cayce, but she tried to give us much more explanation and gave us some case studies. She focused on the patient’s body. She focused on the patient’s problem – she really wanted to listen, she was very empathetic. She talked in so much detail about everything that we needed to know.
Before we met with Dr. Gladys, we were anxious about chemo, but after meeting with her, we realized we were ready to go ahead with the chemo treatments. And we also understood how our attitudes can affect the outcome. We were so surprised that our minds had changed so quickly with regard to having chemo treatments.
I was so excited to meet Dr. Gladys, and I wanted to let you know about her session. I am so sorry that this mail was so long. Sorry! But her session completely changed our lives, and we only knew about Dr. Gladys because you talked about her in your E-Mail Magazine.
We felt that it was a really holistic session; I mean that she didn’t just focus on the patient’s body, she focused on the patient’s whole life.
After my husband’s chemo is over we will go to meet Dr. Gladys again. We really appreciate you and Dr. Gladys, and thank you much for introducing us to her.
I think these people are so lucky, because they could meet Dr. Gladys at such an important time in their lives. I think this was able to happen because the wife loves her husband so deeply. In the Bible, it says, “Ask and you shall find. Knock on the door and it will open.”
At the time when they met Dr. Gladys she was 90 years old. I am always surprised at her age, and I hope that doctors like her will continue to increase more and more.
If you don’t know about Dr. Gladys, I recommend that you read her book. It is available in Japanese.
Also, I created a photo-story of her life for her 90th birthday. I made it myself, but even so it still makes me teary when I ever I watch it!
Please take a few minutes to watch it if you can.
Two weeks ago I went to the no-live zone of the Fukushima nuclear plant site--Odaka area in Minami-Soma city, and it is within 16kms of the nuclear plant.(My friends started new project with people who used to live in the Odaka area) .
People are now allowed to enter, but not allowed to live there. The people who once lived there had to move into the temporary housing provided by the government.
Fukushima is in a very rural area of Japan. There are many fields for dairy, farming, vegetables, rice paddies and so on, and it is quite mountainous. When I went there, it was cherry blossom season, and I could see many, many beautiful cherry blossom trees in full bloom. I felt very calm, and it was quiet, and looked very peaceful.
On the other hand, I checked the Geiger counter that we had brought with me, and the radiation reading was very high. It was such a conflicting feeling; the area was so peaceful and beautiful, and yet the radiation levels were so high.
It was the first time for me to visit Fukushima. I think if people went there, and didn’t know about the radiation, they would probably think, “wow, it is so beautiful here, I want to live here.” That is the kind of place it was.
People cannot live there right now, but most of the people who once lived there hope to return to their homes in the future. I’m not sure if this will be possible or not, it seems like it would be so difficult for them to return to their homes because of the radiation.
Before I went to Fukushima, I truly believed they should leave the area for their health. However, the people I met there were so calm, gentle and patient, and they are still hoping to return to their homes in the near future. So I couldn’t say anything of my fears that this might not happen.
I live in Yokohama, so it is hard for me to imagine what they go through on a daily basis because of this radiation problem. To visit to Fukushima, I took care of my heath – I took many mineral supplements that help prevent the body from absorbing radiation. After returning to my home, I did a detox, and as much as possible, I tried to eliminate any radiation that I may have taken in.
I don’t know if the people in Fukushima have this kind information, or they do something for their health, like me. I am really worried about their health, as they were so close to the nuclear plant.
The Japanese government tried to make people think that the problems in Fukushima are almost over; that we can live in safety and not worry about the radiation. The government also tried to make the people think they will be able to return to their homes soon. However, I believe this is not true.
In the future, I think many people will suffer from problems related to this nuclear disaster. I don’t think the government will be able to hide this from us. I still believe the people should not return to that area to live because of the damage this would do to their health.
At the same time, I know they are living with the hope that they can return to their homes one day. For me, it seems like that “land” is their family just like many people think of dogs and cats as family. For the people of Fukushima, it seems like the land is their family and many have lived there for many generations. I understand why they do not want to leave their land.
I really don’t know what I can do about the situation. People have said to me that the radiation in Tokyo and Yokohama is also dangerous, and that I should leave. But it is not easy, I have a life here. And because of this, I can really understand how the people from Minami-Soma feel.
Almost two week has passed since I visited there, and I am still feeling confused about what I can or should do.
In the past month, we took aura photos of 30 women.
First we took their aura photo, then we did a massage with castor oil or aura glow massage oil, and then we took another photo a few minutes after this massage.
We took these photos in a seminar room, in other words, we were not in any kind of relaxing environment, in fact it was quite a messy room. But as you can see, after just this massage most of the auras had changed and were much brighter and more vivid.
This picture shows my aura and two of my staff. This is the before photo of our auras.
The next picture is taken a few minutes after massaging castor oil on my hand.
Actually, before I took the photo, I thought my aura might be quite red, but in fact it was more blue and green, with some purple.
Then after the castor oil massage, my aura had become much brighter, and the purple had changed to a more pinkish purple.
The aura reader said that I was the sort of person who takes action according to my intuition, without thinking. I didn’t agree with him at first, because I am a president of a company! He said that I am the type of person takes action on something that excites me very quickly. I usually act without thinking deeply about it.
Temple Beautiful has a president who takes action according to my intuition, and has staff with red and orange auras, and the aura reader said that this was a good combination for a team.
In the past, a company president would have a red aura. However, newer companies tend to have presidents with similar auras to me. I wonder if this means that we are running our businesses by sensing and feeling rather than strictly following research and common knowledge.
The aura reader has been taking these kinds of photos for 9 years. He said that castor oil and aura glow are great products to be able to have such a big change so quickly in the auras of these women.
This seminar of taking aura photos was very interesting and I’m looking forward to doing it again!
Recently, we took some “before and after” photographs of our aura. We wanted to see what affects castor oil and massage oil had on our aura.
This is a photo of one of our staff, she agreed to be the model for the experiment.
In this “before” picture, we were a little concerned about the aura photograph. The red color you can see is quite dark, and you can also see that there is no color underneath her neck. This aura basically suggests that she is probably tired and has overworked for a few months. The energy in the aura is quite tired.
After massaging her hands and elbows using Aura Glow, we took another photo. This is 13 minutes later.
She didn’t use the oil for her whole body, just hands and elbows, and yet her aura recovered all over and her energy returned.
I think we can say that Aura Glow actually helps our aura grow! She only used it for 10 minutes! I think this aura glow massage oil is good as a kind of maintenance to use in the morning or before bed, to help us maintain energy and fix any energy issues that we may have.
After using the castor oil pack for three days, we took another photo of her aura in the same location.
The aura reader, Mr.Sakaue(Colour Energy Laboratory, Inc.)gave us some feedback, and he said that he found that some kind of purification had taken place in her aura. In other words, he said that the castor oil seemed to have had a detox effect on her aura.
We use the castor oil on the liver, and the liver is the organ that tends to store anger energy. When we use a castor oil pack on our liver, it seems to reset our emotional state, and we can regain our true selves.
This time, our staff used the pack for three days. Usually the castor oil pack is used for 3 weeks and 3 days. If we do that, it could have an even greater effect on the aura, and detox it even more.
Usually we have a hard armor around us, however, I think that using the castor oil pack can release this armor, and enable us to be our true selves once again.
The next picture shows the aura after she had massaged her hands and cheek with Castor oil.
As you can see, after she did this massage, her aura changed again. The right side of the aura relates to our future, and as you can see, the color of the future area has changed.
This shows us that we can change our aura now, which means we may be able to make changes to the future and even our past.
For past few weeks, I have been receiving about 1-2 letters a day inquiring or pertaining to pregnancy. It ranges from news such as “I got pregnant!” to “I’d like to hear some advice about what mothers-to-be should be doing during their pregnancy”. Amidst the social issue of birth rate in Japan, I wonder if such social phenomenon does not quite apply to Temple Beautiful customers because of so many successful and happy accounts about healthy pregnancy.
That said, I would like to focus on the types of treatments for expectant mothers . Some readers who are not pregnant or have no plans to have any children for a while, it would be helpful to know in case someone around you does.
I HIGHLY recommend Castor oil packs during pregnancy for various reasons, which I will speak about along with my sister-in-law’s miraculous experience using it. (Some of you may have heard about this account as my brother have shared this quite often at his lectures.)
When Yumiko, my sister-in-law, married my older brother she had numbers of large Uterine fibroid and over the years of routine check-ups doctors told her that it would prevent her from getting pregnant. She did start using castor oil packs ever since she met my brother, but didn’t quite expect the Uterine fibroid to completely disappear but simply reduce in size. So it took everyone, including Yumiko, when she found out about her pregnancy.
However, when Yumiko went with my brother to obstetrician, they were told that her uterus lacked sufficient space for the baby to grow and that she will have a miscarriage upon two to three months into her pregnancy. Even if she didn’t have any, the doctors warned that she will probabilistically deliver the baby premature or require a c-section operation upon deliverance. The danger in premature babies is that they may end up with having some form of physical disorder.
It must have been a devastating news to the newly weds, but my brother, who has been a devoted Cayce follower, searched for similar cases. He finally came across one in which an expectant mother had Uterine fibroid like Yumiko. The cure, obviously, was castor oil packs. Since their discovery, Yumiko used the pack everyday, placing it right on top of her uterus. (For women with steady pregnancy cycle, three to four treatments are sufficient.) In addition to the castor pack, my brother gave 10 to 30 minutes massage every night using castor oil.
Fortunately, the most precarious stage in which the dangers of miscarriage passed, and the baby settled in the uterus without further issue. Eventually, Yumiko delivered a healthy baby. A miracle baby, her doctors said. My niece is 10 years old now(2008). She is growing up to be an intelligent and caring young girl, surrounded much by love and care.
In addition to this fortunate event, after delivering her baby, Yumiko’s Uterine fibroid shrunk in size. It is so small today now that she doesn’t feel anything at all today.
Let us go over a few points:
Medical data dictated that Yumiko’s Uterine fibroid were too large for any normal pregnancy to take place. However the routine castor oil packs created a condition for pregnancy.
In spite of warnings about miscarriage, she passed the first stage of pregnancy.
In spite of warnings that the fetus will not be able to develop in the uterus due to lack of sufficient space, the fetus was able to locate a space in which to grow.
The pregnancy led smoothly to delivery, regardless of clinical data that predicted her miscarriage. Not only did she have a wholesome pregnancy but the Uterine fibroid became smaller as well.
For this miracle to take place, various factors counted— parental love, baby’s strength, hope-- but I think the effectivity of castor oil packs deserve some serious attention as well. There are accounts about difficult medical cases pertaining to pregnancy that were resolved by castor oil packs.
In the “Castor Oil Booklet” our company made, I mentioned about a woman who had eight miscarriages previously gave birth to a healthy baby after trying castor oil packs and another account about a pregnant woman whose conglutinated fallopian tubes. Dr. Gladys McGarey, an American obstetrician has mentioned about “Castor Oil babies”, babies who were born under almost impossible medical circumstances.
If you know of anyone with issues such as what we discussed here, please let them know about the benefits of castor oil packs. You might possibly witness a birth of a miracle baby.
Allow me to note that Temple Beautiful’s castor oil is organic so it is a safe product for expectant mothers and babies alike!
Since last Fall(2006), I’ve been in a learning mode. It’s almost to a point where I can say that my personal trend is “learning (something new)”. Ever since I’ve been in such state of mind, Saturdays and Sundays are now typically spent attending lectures and seminars.
Even in the evenings, I go out to see performing arts of some sort. (I do miss a couple of good ones due to jet lag.) My last Sunday was one of the rare Sundays in which I had no plans. Moreover, I’ve become such an avid reader that I order books from Amazon.JP two to three times a week so I will always have something new to read. It's the same for work in the sense that there are constantly deadlines that need to be met. Time certainly flies. It would be really nice to have 30 hours in a day.
Apparently, however, I was negligent about taking notice of the signs my body was sending amidst the whirlwind of urgent agendas, and so, around April or May, my body developed hives and I became unable to get up in the morning. I was mentally exhausted as well, negative thoughts crossing my mind, perhaps as a reaction to my physical state. “What’s the point in communicating Cayce’s teachings when there are far more suitable than myself?”, I would think to myself, “Am I even of any use?”
That’s when I saw this dream:
I am standing somewhere unfamiliar, holding a board reflector that’s a size of a large calendar over m head. The next moment, I am in space, hovering over Earth, looking down upon Japan. While gazing the islands which form Japan, I spot a glistening point of light. It was a sort of light that was made by a reflection of the sun, reflected by the board reflector I was holding. I interpreted this dream as a reminder that it was enough for me to be a small point of light. The light doesn’t have to permeate across the country, and the importance of being shedding light to the teaching of Cayce should suffice.
I started Temple Beautiful because of the difficulties in finding the right materials for Cayce treatment. Back when I started practing it myself, I found it hard to find castor oil and extra virgin olive oil in Japan. I remember finding myself in great disappointment when the castor oil I finally found was not exactly the one Cayce spoke about. I was crushed since my hope, after visiting various pharmacy stores, was taken away instantly upon that realization. For those who have met me, I am a very small-framed woman. The pharmacists to whom I asked for castor oil used to interrogate me with questions on why I needed castor oil, suspecting I was anorexic and was looking to use castor oil to lose more weight. I would almost come close to breaking into tears when they would tell me that they don’t have any in stock after showering me with so many personal questions! Even there were some bottles available, I still had to visit more pharmacies since they never had much to being with and the bottles itself contained only small amounts of it.
Thanks to the internet, customers have more access to pure castor oil. I think that’s one of things Temple Beautiful accomplished over the years.
One thing that still bothers me about the dream is that I was standing somewhere around Nagano prefecture instead of Tokyo. But I guess it’s a dream, and the neon lights of Tokyo would have not helped to make my light visible in any way.
I have another story about a dream that was dream just around the same time as the previous one. I usually work through out the week writing something for this publication distributed every Friday. By Wednesday, I would usually have a theme for the week’s letter, and by Thursday I would have a half written out. However, it took me more time to decide on what to write and found much difficulty in start writing it that particular week. I would write a paragraph or two, but decide it is not good enough, I would delete it entirely and start over again.
Usually, it takes only about two hours to complete the draft. Finding myself at lost as what to write and finding no solutions to overcome writer’s block, I was tempted to due away with that week’s publication. That night, Mr. Ken Honda appeared before me in my dream. (His book, “The Small Rich Person”, is what he is known for generally.)
“I read your Email Newsletter every week. It’s quite impressive how you write it at weekly basis.”
It was truly a simple dream. In fact, I have only met Mr. Honda once. We exchanged business cards but had no further communication after that occasion so I doubt he even reads or knows about my online publications. I was not too sure why it was Mr. Honda, or whoever looked like him, who offered a word of praise but it certainly discouraged me to forgo the idea of taking a week off.
Going back to the title of this letter, “Illuminating One Corner”, I think this thought applies to everyone. No one needs to have a grand agenda, a large scale ambition to illuminate everything and everywhere. Rather, every individual illuminates one corner, small or large, of the world he or she mainly belong in and associate themselves with. A mother may light up the house like the sun, while a father may be delivering light to his workplace. When I realized that, I was finally able feel comfortable with myself.
Dreams are basically reminders sent in a timely fashion. Personally, it helped that my dreams were quite simple to interpret though!

I own a shop called "Temple Beautiful" which sells Cayce products in Tokyo (moved to Yokohama, in 2010). I could not imagine that I would be a shop owner until it's opening day. I just followed a path in front of me and it lead me to where I'm standing now.
I was introduced to Edgar Cayce by my brother who is the president of Edgar Cayce Center in Japan now. He was so moved by the book "Many Mansions" and sent a copy to our parents house when I was in high school. I suppose that many people are aware of this story that this book changed his life. In fact, every time I read this book I find it moving. But to me, reincarnation was not "the shocking fact" then. It is because I was always interested in spiritual matters and wondering philosophical questions such as "why was I born to be me?" since I was in kindergarten. So I secretly accepted reincarnation as a natural providence among the family who were exclusively materialistic. Even when I mentioned this to my parents, they just laughed at me. But I believed that this must be the truth in my heart. Therefore, reading "Many Mansions" did not change my view of life much and I was thinking to myself that "The reportages by Katsuichi Honda (Japanese journalist) are much more shocking!".
Personally, I started to get into the 'spiritual world' in my 20s when I had friends who were open to these topics. Though I would talk about the invisible world, I thought it is outrageous to make living out of it since my brother who disappointed my parents by dropping out of the stable government work to translate Cayce books, I felt that I had to have a secure regular job. What a laudable sister I was!
I started to be more interested in Cayce when I began applying Cayce remedies such as the castor oil pack, oil massage, diet and so on. This was also recommended to me by my brother. It was at a cafe in Yokohama that he told me about Cayce remedies for the first time. So I asked him to send me some castor oil and massage oil then I received them a few days later.
I became so into these Cayce remedies.
I have the nature of wanting to try everything, and this greasy, relaxing, whole sensation of using oil interested me. Every night I massaged myself with a compound of olive oil and peanut oil and went to bed covered with oil.
But when these oils from my brother ran out, I had to find them by myself. It was quite difficult since it was before the Italian cuisine boom, so I had to go to imported grocery stores by changing trains 3 times. For the castor oil, I had to go around on foot to many pharmacies. Because I was petite, some pharmacists would sarcastically say that "Someone so thin as yourself does not need castor oil!". Then to my disappointment I discovered that the pharmacies' castor oil was not the same quality as what Cayce recommended. As I carried the heavy oil bottles home, I wished for someone to start a shop for Cayce remedies.
At that time in Tokyo, there were several spiritual seminars starting to be held, and I attended some of them with my friends. They were all interesting as a topic but I could not relate to the people who were already involved. Even though I was interested in the New Age movement, I felt something was not quite right. In there, Cayce's physical readings fitted like a missing piece of a puzzle. Naturally, I departed from the New Age scene.
In May 1995, the first A. R. E. tour was held by Tama publishing company. Since my brother told me this kind of tour will be his first and the last, I decided to take a vacation from work and attend the tour. This changed my later life dramatically. I was shocked by how A. R. E. was involving experts of parapsychology, archaeology, and medicine to verify Cayce's readings. There were no mysterious gurus.
Our flight delayed and arrived after midnight at the hotel. On top of that, the following day we had lectures all day till 9 p.m., starting with Dr. William McGarey (very important!) at 8 a.m. It was a tough schedule.
Although most of us were falling asleep due to jet lag and the unfamiliar sound of interpreted lectures, I was so excited to receive academic Cayce lectures and stayed awake through all of them. (This is something I am proud of to this day). I had this uplifting feeling for my entire stay at A. R. E. and it was a joy of my spirit. It did not disappear till I came back to Japan.
There were many stories on this tour, and I'd like to recall two of them.
There were two sisters who had a little psychic ability in this group. This is a story they told me. On our last day, we had a farewell meeting at A. R. E. Various people greeted us as we sat on our seats. Then (according to them) the spirit of Cayce appeared and he put a seed like thing into the hand of all of us. Of course we could not see Cayce and returned to Japan without noticing anything… The 50 tour members should know how their seeds bloomed after they came home. Because this tour lead to the founding of the Edgar Cayce Center in Japan, so one big flower had bloomed for sure.
The second story is about my future.
On the tour we had lectures by various Cayce experts and we were given a guided meditation for "finding our treasures". The guidance was such that our consciousness goes through an imaginary woods, then flies across the sky and jumps into a pond and finds a treasure box to see what is inside. After this lecture, tour members were telling each other that "My treasure was a heart-shaped rose quarts", "I found a crystal ball", "It was a beautiful diamond".
Among all the romantic objects, I was too embarrassed to say anything about my treasure because it was simple and unexpected. I was quite upset then, but 2 years later I realize it was truly my treasure.
What I saw in the box were neatly stored nameplates (like those on an entrance of a country house, which is made with thick piece of wood)! Of course my conscious body went through the box to see if there was anything else, but there were only nameplates.
I was upset for a while that my treasure was not lovely like rose quarts. But about two years later, when I started to work at the Cayce Center in Japan typing member's names into the computer system and began making a customers list for Temple Beautiful, I realized what those nameplates meant.
In the autumn of the year we went on the tour, three lecturers came from A. R. E. to Japan and seminars were held in Yamanashi prefecture.
When this happened, A. R. E. suggested to us that we form a center to pass the Cayce readings on to Japanese people. Thus the Cayce center in Japan was founded in Cayce's birthday week the following year. I'm sure that other people will have other stories to add to the before and after of the foundation of the center, so I'll leave that to them for the details.
For me, participation in activities of the Cayce Center was like going to school. This is because I had a dream just before the foundation of the center.
In this dream, I was on a trip and carrying large suitcases in both hands. I bumped into Dr. Henry Reed and a large gray-haired American lady. They were on their way to a graduation ceremony of a school and they told me to join them, so I did. They sat in VIP seats and I sat in an ordinary passenger seat at the rear. The graduation went smoothly and then a welcome ceremony started. It turned out to be a primary school and small children marched in. Then the principal, in his speech stated that "During the time you are at this school, everyone is like your family." Apparently they don't have class changes throughout the six years, so I thought to myself "What a pity that they have to stick with the same people for six years. They'll make friends but not with everyone". As we all danced after the ceremony, I woke up.
When I woke up, I felt that this dream was indicating that I was going to be involved in the Cayce center's work for six years and it will be like a school for my spirit and that it's not all fun stuff. As a matter of fact, I left the center's work after five years but I feel that the amount of work I did was equivalent to six years' worth. I assumed I could skip a year and graduated.
At the time when the center was founded, I still had a daytime job. So I went to the center for two hours after work to help them doing simple things like checking their answering machine since nobody was attending during the day, and sending information and such.
Eventually the weight of the center work became heavier since I wanted to do my best for what I started. After two years I quit my job and worked mainly at the center. I chose the center over my career as an office worker due to my nature being such that I cannot help working hard once I'm involved. This made my parents disappointed just like my brother did.
The center's activity became more stable. I was living off my brother so I had nothing to worry about even though the center paid me hardly anything. As I started to think that I could carry on this easy way of living, my brother decided to get married.
Out of the blue, I had to become financially independent. I had to choose whether to pass my center work to someone else and return to my hometown in Hiroshima, or find a job in Tokyo, or work for myself. My parents were expecting to have me home naturally, but I was suddenly inspired to start my own office to spread Cayce's remedies. Soon I rented an apartment which I lived in and used as an office.
I named it "Temple Beautiful". Thus I instantly became an entrepreneur. I was wishing for someone to start a shop for Cayce remedies I finally realized that I should be the one. But I had no savings since I was living off my brother. There were no funds but debts to my parents and friends. I had nothing but drive and energy.
It became impossible to go to the center everyday, so I redirected the center's phone line to my apartment office. By doing this, I could receive calls to the center and did their admin work at home, and on my days off. I went to the center to work on necessary things. I was continuously working everyday apart from sleeping time, since I was still doing the most of the center's work and I had so much to do for my office. However it was fun to be able to work on what I loved.
After a while I started to feel exhausted mentally and physically from doing all the work and also from having troubles and discord among the staff. I decided to leave the center in 1998. I think the decision served the center well since they could reform and refresh, and myself so that I could spend more time on my work.
We have relocated to Setagaya, Tokyo, and it is open as a shop which carries mostly Cayce products (available by mail-order). Actually, this relocation was also quite dramatic. To put it briefly, my therapist friend consulted an astrologist about a location to start a clinic, and I ended up moving into the same building. Again, it was settled without my will or plans and I felt like what I just rode on the wind.
We organize seminars by doctors of holistic and Cayce remedies whom we invite from the United States, as well as sell products. One seminar we held with Dr. Gladys McGarey lead to translating and publishing her book this spring, and I believe this is another bloomed flower from the seed Cayce gave us.
It feels strange that I was just a fan of Cayce's remedies, but without my noticing it I became the person to spread it. I could not keep my interest in anything for a long time before, but I can with Cayce remedies for some reason. I could continue because what I found was what I loved. I think that it blossomed because it is what I love.
The first two years after I started Temple Beautiful, my parents (who were very sad for two of their children to have abnormal jobs) asked me when I will quit to find a normal job. Though they became our biggest supporters since then, they realized through helping me with seminars with Dr. John Pagano and Dr. McGarey that the Cayce readings are helping not only me but so many other people and it is bringing joy.
I have many things to learn for my business, since I started without any preparation. But I'd like to keep on helping to spread Cayce's remedies at my own pace.
And lastly, I'd like to share my favorite story.
Soon after I started Temple Beautiful, I was told by the local Chamber of Commerse and Industry to submit documents describing my business. One of the questions asked about "… group" which I did not understand. So I called and asked one of the Cayce center members, Mr. Masaki Kobayashi in Shizuoka who is a certified public accountant. He said to me that "I think this means financial group such as Mitsubishi or Sumitomo, but God is your boss. You can't really write your boss is God and you belong to the Cayce group, so just leave it blank".
Don't you think that "God is the boss and you belong to the Cayce group" sounds wonderful? I often think of these words as an admonition.
